About Chez Diarra:
Chez Diarra or “the house of the lion” produces a line of artisanal, vegan, and sugar-free sauces inspired by traditional African cuisine available online and at select markets in New York City. Chez Diarra also provides catering in the Tri-State area bringing a unique culinary experience to special events.

Helmed by a husband and wife team, Chef Idrissa Diarra and Zuhirah Khaldun-Diarra, Chez Diarra is a family business. Chef Idrissa is former manager of one of Burkina Faso’s most popular restaurants, La Foret in West Africa and former head chef at Harlem’s heralded Patisserie Des Ambassades. He has also worked in Moroccan and Middle Eastern kitchens including Les Enfants Terrible on Manhattan’s Lower East Side and Harlem’s, Silvana. A true artist, Chef Idrissa is a reggae singer-songwriter and cultural chair of the Burkina Faso Association of New York. Zuhirah is an experienced marketer, blogger, New York Native, and has lived in the Netherlands and Bermuda. She is a former music industry exec (having handled media relations for The Roots, De La Soul and Jay-Z) and has worked with Converse Sneakers, the Bronx Museum of the Arts and the National Urban League. The Diarras live in Harlem with their two daughters, Salimata and Saaga.
